Gilles Sansterre’s decades of decorated military service with the Canadian Forces Military Police is complimented by his later investigative and security experience with a civilian Crown corporation.
He rose to second-in-command of Canada’s Military Police, an organization with some 2,000 officers stationed at detachments across Canada and abroad. This came after a variety of roles, from serving as an airfield security flight commander as part of the NATO force in Kosovo in the 1990s, to training new recruits and working as an investigator and later Commanding Officer with the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service.
His distinguished military service earned Gilles a Commander of Air Command Commendation and investiture into the Order of Military Merit, among other distinctions.
Following his military career, Gilles Sansterre joined Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. as a senior investigator and deputy departmental security officer responsible for security and business continuity. In this role, he conducted and oversaw investigations related to mortgage fraud, ID theft, security and allegations of employee misconduct.
As a principal of Presidia, Gilles works with clients on matters related to policing, security and emergency management.
